mounting my new side- mirror 120-130

Hey All,

I finally found a suitable replacement side-mirror (driver-side) for my resto-project at the anuual IPD meet. I'm wondering if anybody has advice/opinions on the best way to mount it.

There are two options most apperent to me so far:

The first is to just use sheet-metal screws into the present 3/8" holes already in the door (on the curved portion just below side-vent window). This would just be using tapered-head screws.

The other option might be to use machine-thread bolts which could have small nuts mounted from the inside of the door. This would be more of a hassle probably, as I'd have to remove the handles and inside panel and all of that jazz to get the nuts on from the inside.

So... what do you fine folks all think...?
