mounting my new side- mirror 120-130

If you are happy with where the holes are (vent window opens and you can actually see them), then I say reuse the holes by all means. Your local hardware store should have some nylon inserts that work very well for mounting the screws if the holes get to be too large (they look and function like plastic dry-wall mollies but are shorter and thicker).
If you want to go the machine screw method, I suggest getting a nut-sert tool!
