update: suspenion modifications... installed lower braces and adjustable panhard bar 200

Pimps, Players, & Brickheads,

Well, I must say my car is riding better than ever. The lower GT style braces, combined with the upper braces I bought last summer, have given me a noticeable and serious improvement in ride quality. The car holds a set longer at higher speeds, feels incredibly firm regardless of road condition(s), is considerably, notably, & seriously tighter, and has a better, more realistic "connection" with the road. I would not call the ride harsh in any way... but then again I am in love with my TME lowered, Bilsteined, polyurethane bushed ride. This, in my opinion, is simply icing on the cake. Much "more better" and seriously worth the money... but only if your idea of handling has not been gleaned from experiences with Caddies or a 25' 1974 Pontiac Catalina.

As for the adjustable pan hard rod... after adding the lowering springs the car was out 26mm to the passenger side. Seriously off center! I was starting to get a funky wear pattern on my rear tires and she did not track perfectly on level roads. Despite what IPD says you could never install this bar by yourself in under 30 minutes with common hand tools. If my friend did not own a garage with every tool imaginable and a lift, the job would be very difficult to do with only two hands and some 19mm wrenches. We had to manage a huge pry bar to simply move the suspension over 26mm... in order to line up the adjusted pan hard bar with the bolt hole on the driver's side. I am in great shape, but could just barely move the suspension over enough without that extra person... and my buddy still needed a free hand to insert the bolt on the pan hard bar. Impossible if you were solo, on your back, in the driveway. The bushings were a pain in the ass to fit with a vice and we eventually used the press to get it right. Plus, you need to take several measurements on each side of the car after each adjustment. To do it right you need two people. Definitely not difficult... and not as easy as IPD would lead you to believe. Worth it: OH YEAH!!!!

My new motto is the more polyurethane the better... that combined with everything centered, the shocks & struts, 25mm sways, new bushes, braces, mounts, & springs make the car defy what most people think a Volvo can do. I am killing off ramps like never before. The car drives so much better than stock and the handling now feels much closer to neutral.

Peace, Love, & Superior Handling, Jon
