V90 Ambiant temp sensor S90-V90 1997

My V90 was not equipped with the ambiant temp feature but is wired for it. Managed to scrounge the sensor and dash module from my friendly pick and pull yard. It was an easy install except I can't figure out exactly where the sensor is supposed to mount. The unused cable and plug was tucked up behind the front left bumper so I just tie wrapped the sensor where it can pick up the incoming air from the road. The sensor appears to want to slip into about a 3/8" hole somewhere but I cant find it.

Anyone know exactly where the sensor mounts?
