tranny install... 140-160

Hey man...you'll probably want to pick up a new throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and why not a rear main seal while your at it? all are cheap insurance for the future. You'll need to pull clutch and flywheel for the pilot and rear main, but that's not a big deal. For the trans, you'll want at least a new top cover gasket. And fill it up before you put it in place unless you have a syringe set-up for filling...I have one if you would need to borrow. For fluid, I was very impressed with the Redline I put in my M410..smoother shifting, was quite stiff and notchy before, a little quiter, too. As far as procedure, you'll pull the driveshaft at the trans flange, diff flange, and center bearing mount, unbolt the trans mount & crossmember, disconnect the clutch cable, speedo cable, wire for backup lights, unbolt the starter & bellhousing bolts(disconnect battery..saves sparks!), take off the shift lever inside the car, and pull out the trans(not necessarily in that order, but close). Not even too heavy without the overdrive! Then ubolt your clutch pressure plate & then your flywheel if needed. If you need parts, I could hook you up before the weekend, although I'm Shayne can too :) I'll e-mail you & tell you about my weekend :) I'll also try to get a picture posted about what kept me away from ipd this weekend.(hint: he's six pounds, twelve oz)
