Instalation of Street Cam 140-160 1971

Hello all,
I am looking for some good advice in reguard to a birthday present my wife got me(who could ask for a better woman than one that buys you car parts?)...The IPD Street Preformance Cam. My B20 has about 25K miles on it and my question is can I simply swap out cams without changing berrings. I have all new lifters.
What else should I look for while in their?
Do I need to check the cam berring for a propper fit? If so how?
Can it be done with the motor left in the car? Just pull the radiator, ect. to pull the cam out the front?

I am greatfull for any help/advice.

Thanks to all.
