A.C. compressor clutch 700 1989

I recently aquired an '89 760T that has some AC issues. The P.O wired a rocker switch in the dash directly to the A.C. compessor clutch threfore it will not cycle on and off as it should.I took the wire off and spliced it to the proper (green and yellow )wire coming from the harness. With the key off there is power to activate the clutch, now i can see why he did this in the first place . Does any one know what could cause a constant 12v pull @ the clutch ? any help greatly appriciated, B.G.
