engine has to be started a second time after stalling when cold. S90-V90 1997

I would think a check valve problem, (its in the fuel pump), would cause a slow start but once it is running should be superfluous.

Is your "check engine" light comming on? It is working/lights up in position II before the engine is started correct?

Any other symptoms, like poor fuel economy? Maybe the engine temperature sensor?

Just some ideas....
