Wont start 700

i just got done putting the engine together and it doesnt start. as you may know i had a busted t-belt on My 745 GLE 16 v motor. i think the distributor is off. i got gas and spark. when the distributor was put on i thought it was fixed and cant be installed backwards, the firing order is correct and there are new plugs. but i dont no any more. i suspect the firing order is off because it cranks but doesnt start like my uncles taurus which cranks but just doesnt start. i think because there are 2 marks on the lower pulley and i think that the thing is 180 degrees off. is it possibly that the timing is off?
