Weird Hood Problem?!? 700 1990

I had the same problem on my '89 765 last year. I ignored it for awhile, but the hood ended up binding up in the almost closed position.

The problem turned out to be two fold. First, there was light rust in the hinges that caused the binding, and final freezing up. This was freed up with lots of silicone oil spray...over several days. I now give both hinges a blast once a month or so.

Second, once the hinge was freed up, I had to gently bend/twist/tweek the hood hinges to get them back in alignment. I did this by grabbing hold of the front of the hood with it open and tweeking it. It did not take much force to bring it back to the right position.

Good Luck!
