What is this A/C electrical component? 700 1988

AC suddenly stopped working.
Thanks to the FAQ, I began to trace the wiring for my AC tonight, and to make a long story short, I found a broken wire.
What is the small electrical component (1"x1.25"x1/4", and potted) that the wire powering the AC clutch goes through before it goes to the AC clutch? Mine is mounted onto a metal bracket attached to the Alternator.
The wire broke off or came out of that component. I shoved it in and have it wire-tied in, and the system works again.
I guess I need to replace that part, so what is it?
