Ok, great, but one the key questions of my post (#2)is "what will I see or hear to tell me that the compressor is running" ??

I had hoped that asking very specific questions would generate specific answers that are ambiguous or assume that a necessary step is already familiar. This is a problem with this section of the FAQs.

I'd appreciate anyone helping me out here with unfamiliar territory.
