Hood latch, still 200 1992

Well, the hood hinges are now well-lubricated and the hood glides like it's on roller bearings, but the rascal still refuses to pop up when I pull the release lever. A visual inspection shows the cable adjustment to be OK, and the spring plunger on the hood itself looks OK. Not a show-stopper, as I can still open the hood, but... just a small annoyance that it won't pop up like it used to.

Ideas?
