I was trying to calculate my mileage just yesterday. I think the paper in my headgasket is beginning to give up the ghost. No loss of power, not mixing any fluids, not running hot, but smellng coolant, and my expansion tank is pressurized...hmmm...wonder if high mileage and age will weaken the gasket. Anyhow, my speedo didn't work for many many years (yes, I own a Volvo shop...what's your point?), and it's off by at least 15% now, showing less on the odometer than is actually driven. So I figured my averages, and with my house being 37 miles from the shop, and having two teenage girls with places to go, I average 40K a year, with what the motor and trans had on it prior to her diesel to gas conversion, this puts Abbie's mileage somewhere around 730K.
