Help! Fuse Blowing 700 1985

Hello Friends:

I am new here so please pardon me if I some how got the wrong forum. I need help. My wife has a 1985 740GLE (non-turbo) 4 Door sedan. We were heading out to visit friends. My wife started the car and it died. Started it again and it sputtered a few seconds then idled just fine. On the way home the car stalled and would not start. I pulled the coil wire and checked for spark and there was. I found fuse #1 had blown. It is a 25 amp fuse. The owner manual says it belongs to the fuel pump and fuel injection. I replaced the fuse and it seemed to resolve the issue, at least for the moment. My wife called me at work today to report the same issue. However, this time when I twice replaced the fuse it blew out as soon as I turned the key. I was wondering if there is a common problem here I might be able to troubleshoot myself. I don't have a whole lot of bucks to hire someone. A mechanic is my last resort. No offense to the professionals. I just never know when I am being taken advantage of. I have lost a lot of money in the past with both of my Volvos. Mechanically I am ok and I can follow instructions if they are clear. I think I could resolve this myself with a little help and guidence. In case this might help. I replaced about 6 weeks ago The ignition component that is mounted inside the front fender of the drivers side. At that time I had no spark from the coil. Everything worked great after I replaced it. I want to say thank you for reading my post. I hope I gave you enough info to get me started.
