WHATS YOUR MILEAGE? 200

I have an '89 740 GL with 250,000 miles on it. Got the car at 120,000 for $1700. That's about a penny a mile! I'd say I've spent about $2000 in repairs, mostly standard stuff. I don't think I'll ever find a deal this good again. It's really outrageous. And the car won't die.

I have had several 240s. I started with a '79. I can't remember the miles it had. I do remember the 5th wheel: the well had rusted and the spare was exposed. That car broke on the way home. I paid $300. Took some work, but it was a fine car for the year or so that I had it.

I then had an '87 240 wagon. Great engine, rusty body. I think the miles were over 200,000. That engine lives on in another car. The guy I sold it to is a convert and has been spreading the word.

I then bought an '86 240 wagon. Great engine, great body. The miles were over 200,000 as well. I sold this last fall.

A friend sold me his '86 240 wagon. The body is in great shape. The engine is getting better now that I've ironed out some problems. The tranny is ho hum. Still has me a bit nervous.

Finally, I started with a '68 140. I bought a second '73 140 and pulled the engine from it. I'm sure I posted the miles a long time ago, but I don't remember what they were. Great car. I still miss it.
