Electrical - Hall Sensor, Ign Ampifier or Worse (Harness?) 700 1986

Hi All,

I think I've narrowed my damp 'no start', and worsening fuel economy to an Ignition fault, although I'm a reluctant to learn the cost of a new distributor ;<(

Sometimes things seem fine, but more frequently, especially with damp weather, I have no starts and very rough acceleration problems.

Even with the inside of the cap clean and dry (was some oil and condensation in the hall sensor and connections) I cannot get the engine to fire.

There is current from the coil to distributor, however the #1 plug right now only shows very random sparking (usually as I let the key off, a final, pathetic poof).

Do I try and find a new hall sensor, or complete distributor next? Should the connections at the Hall Sensor and Ign Amplifier be covered with dialectic grease?
