88 765 230FT Compatibility with a 98 940 230FT Engine

The knocking is getting sooo loud that I think it's a question of time before the engine gives in...(@ 200K)...Sounds like a diesel!!!

Searched a junk yard database and found a 230FT engine (same as in my '88..at least the designation) from a 98 940 with only 50K on it..price $2,200...

The question is.....will it be compatible???????

Any IDEAS???
