Vibrations between 45-60 MPH, otherwise quiet and nice 700 1986

my 740GL manual saloon looks like new and drives as new but on highways between 45-60MPH the beast generates a vibration (a bit shuddering) noise when accelerating.
After 60 MPH and before 40 MPH its perfect.

When I let go of the accelerator, the vibration immediately stops.

Initially i thoughts it might be the tyres not balanced or something but I have had new types with the right spec and its still vibrating.

I'd appreciate any suggestions or pointers. Regards Nanolund
