Main Fuel Pump Noise 200

I have a 1990 245. I have done VERY extensive work on the car and it seems to run fine. The only thing, you can hear the main fuel pump "whirring" all the time. Before I replaced the intank pump, sock filter, and hose the main pump was REALLY loud. After I replaced it the car seems to run fine, idle smooth and get pretty good mileage (about 25 mpg in the city).

The "whirring" sound is not loud, just noticeable. As soon as I turn on the radio, it is almost inaudible. (not a monster stereo, just factory-from a SAAB 9000T).

My question. It has been doing this for about 9-10 months with seemingly no problems at all. I have checked the pump and it runs cool to the touch, just hear the "whirring" sound all of the time. Should I worry? Should I replace it? Any and all help is, as always, greatly appreciated.

Todd :-)
