Door vinyl wrinkling/buckling 94 940 Repair tips? 900

My kid's 94 940 has the infamous vinyl crinkling/buckling problem.
I plan to do some minor surgery to improve appearance a bit. An Exacto knife and some form of adhesive would seem to be in order.
Any tips or sugggestions for this process? What type of adhesive do you guys suggest?
