engine loud on start up metal noise..lifters rattling? 200

I have an 86 240 sedan 156,000

The noise I'm experiencing is when I first start the car.
I believe it is the lifters? that seem to be really noisy until the car is warmed up, after which the engine is much quieter.

Can this be fixed or is a symptom of and older car?

BTW the oil is topped up and I have used "Kreen" which has really made the engine run smooth, oil/ gas additive. (removes carbon build up)

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
