1989 740 radio removal 700 1989

I've searched the archives a little, and can't come up with an answer to my radio removal question.

I have just purchased a 1989 744T. I thought that removing the old radio and installing an aftermarket stereo would be a simple as doing it in my 1991 744T. Not so. I can't figure out how to even get at the radio to get it out. I can't figure out how to get the two side panels off to get at the electical components or the components that hold the radio in. I don't have a manual yet so I can't refer to that unfortunately. I will have NO problem (I think) installing the radio if I can just get past the dash panelling.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.
