Mystery gizmo on a K-jet throttle body 200

Hi there

I recently cleaned my throttle body and it I must say it was quite easy and satisfying. There was so much gunk and deposit it took me a whole night cleaning it to a shine. Couldn't have done it without the brickboard.

Anyway there's this little housing (? base idle adjusment housing) bolted on to the front side of the throttle body by two allen screws. It has the black idle adjust screw. Screwed in next to the idle screw was a a Pierburg marked device. This device has two electrical connectors connected to it. I am at a lost as to where this fits into the K-jet system I can't seem to find any descriptions of it in the FAQ, archives or my Haynes.

Hoping someone can shed some light on its function(s). Thanks
