Sounds like the test would work for both the L and K jetronic systems. If your going to leave the car sit it is best to fill the tank to prevent condensation which in turn causes corrosion in the tank and in-tank pump. To presurve the fuel add a product called "Sable" (not sure of spelling) available at parts stores. Run the engine after adding just enough to fill the system.
