Fuse #8 keeps blowing........Help 200 1986

About 6 months ago, I was blowing fuse #8. That fuse controls the interior dome light, central locking system. Another anoying problem that when this fuse goes out is that the door ajar chime sings all the time. I could live without the lights and locks, but the chiming all the time is mind numbing...
I thought I solved the problem last time by replacing the drivers side door jamb switch with one from the right rear, until yesterday, when the fuse blew again and I was transported back in time 6 months ago....ding, ding, ding, ding....I tried to switch the door switch with the ps front, but not help. One thing I have noticed is that for the past year or so, the passenger side door lock plunger is very tight and snug to move by hand up and down. It feels as though it's dragging. When I use the master key or depress the ds door plunger from the inside, the ps door plunger goes down ok. Could an electrical overload from the ps door lock inside the door cause the fuse to blow? I've gone through about a dozen fuses to try and track the problem down. I can put a new fuse in and sometimes it will blow in my fingers or it can take up to 15-30 minutes.....there is no way to predict it.

Thanks for your thoughts on this most perplexing matter :-(
