Blower Motor ? 700

I am puuzzled by this. I hope someone can shed some light on the problem.

I dropped off my 1990 740gl to have a new Ac compressor put in. It went to pick
up the car a week later since I was on vacation, and noticed that the heater/AC blower did not not work. The passenger side carpet was soaked, so I figured that
water smoked the blower.

Question: The car sat for a week, the blower motor did get wet, but why does it
not work ?. The fuse is fine. Even after only a week you would think the blower
would at least make one rpm. Is there something I am missing, such as a relay
or fuse that is not in the Chiltons book that I have ?

I purchased a new blower on E-bay, but it requires an adaptor. Thats another
story. Trying to find just an adaptor by itself.

Regards,
