Test method.... 200 1992

Pop off the relay for the fan that is clipped right by the coil. You will see some wires going into that harness. Take a pliers or something and cross the 2 red wires. The fan should come on. If the fan works, and you have never heard it come on... the relay probably needs to be cleaned.

Pop the cover off the relay. This shouldn't be that hard. Look inside the unit and you will see this one arm that will snap over to the other side with about 1mm or so of travel. There will be some round copper contacts that will be covered with carbon and whatnot. Take some fine grit sandpaper inbetween the round contacts... scuff them up a bit getting the carbon off. Slap the relay back in and all should be good. You could test out everything is working by leaving the car running with the AC on and jsut idling. Check the temp gauge... and as it starts rising up... the fan should kick on in a bit.
