Dumb Question: Does it hurt to leave your lights on? 200

I have looked through Haynes and my Owners Manual and there is nothing in there about this, but one of the great things about VOLVOs I have found out, is that when you turn the car off, the lights go turn off too. But does it hurt the car, i.e. fuses, bulbs, etc, when you turn the car back on with the light switch still on the "On" position? I would like to leave it on all the time, without having to think about it if it does no damage. Thanks in advance and happy bricking.
