Brake Job Question 700 1990

Ever do an oil change or change the tranny fluid or the coolant in your car? If so, you are good to go on doing the brakes, and you'll save some money... assuming you want to spend the time doing it. Like someone suggested, check the FAQ.

Oh, replace the brake fluid while you're down there if you haven't done it in a while. I suggest ATE Super Blue, sold by FCPGroton.

My own cost breakdown for a non ABS system:

ATE front vented rotors, 11.25":
$90 ($45 x 2)
ATE rear rotors:
$56 ($28 x 2)
Mintex pads:
$22
1 Liter Super Blue:
$9
Brake cleaner and SilGlyde brake grease from Autozone:
~$7

Total: $184

Remember, this is all new stuff. Not resurfaced like what the previous poster put. I'm not bashing his opinion or anything... just providing a different viewpoint. :)
