what would be symptoms of a bad steering rack or inner tie rods? 700 1988

Hey gang,

I'm not sure if I've got a bad rack or bad inner tie rods... I'm wondering if you could help explain what I am feeling.

When driving at highway speeds (55 +) I will feel a wobble in the steering wheel... it doesn't feel like the tires are wobbling mind you, but it does feel like something being transmitted down the steering shaft.

If I grip the wheel with both hands, I don't feel it... just when I'm driving with one.

Is this at all related to the rack or the inner rods?

The reason I specify these is that the ball joints, outer rods, and all that are new.

What would the symptoms of a bad rack or inner rods be?

Any suggestions?
