Position of fuel pump on 1995 945?

Either I am blind or the fule pump in not in its typical position of the fuel pump (for the 740) is mounted next to the fuel filter on the drivers side underside of the car between the front and rear door jam both are in a little metal basket. However, when I crawl underneath this beast things look rearranged.

Steve or Chris, have you run in to this?

BTW- My fuel pump is not running, the relay is good (I switched with a known working unit from my other 95 940). I ran the diagnostics and the fuel pump comes up as the culprit. Before I replace the expensive pump, are there any other little gremlins I want to rule out?
