codes for radio!!!! help 900

ok....(deep breath)
i had to disconnect the battery in my car to do some work. the radio in my 94 940 could not work, because the cose was 3535, and the number keypad stopped working. i went to a auto wrecker, and explained the situation. they gave me a radio, i dentical to the one in my 940, but it was out of a 740. they gave me the vin for the car that they took the radio out of. i called up volvo, and explained the situation, and after giving him the vin from the autowrecker carhe gave me the code a code 3213. it did not work. i called up the wrecking place to see if there was a mistake and to confirm that i had a correct vin. i called volvo back to see what else i could do to make it so i have a working factory radio with out spending $1.987 M on a new factory unit. the guy at volvo told me to try the vin from my car because it may be programmed to the computer of the car, not the radio. the wrecking told me to go there "during business hours" tomorrow and they would relove the situation.

should i be worried?
is there any other way to get the radio code?
do photoelectric particles behave like waves at the speed of light?

thanks for your help.
