Vent Window Pivots 140-160 1971

For some mysterious reason my post, which follows, ended up in the 700 department (Thank you George and Rod for your replies there.) Bear with me as I try again here where it belongs, and, perhaps, get some input from those who, like me, hardly ever venture there simply because they don't own a 700s . . . . yet.

The weather warmed up enough the other day so that I could actually open the front vent windows on the "71 142. That's when I discovered that the glass has become detached from the upper pivots - at least, I assume that at one time it was attached. Can I glue them back on with, for example, rearview mirror mounting glue, or is there another type of goop that works particularly well?
