In agreement with other folks... get the oxy/acetylene for cutting.

If you are an experienced welder, it could do all you welding work. I'm no welder, but the Miller mig we've been using lately on windmills makes it look like I'm a welder. The thing kicks ass. of course, you want the gas (argon I think), and a little practice.

Shy away from the super cheap migs though.... they seem OK at first until you need to run a good bead. THen they can really suck.

I'm not sure of the model of Miller we've been using though. All I know is that is a 240 volt unit. We've used it to fuse together 1/4" or thicker steel, and used it to fill in rust holes in my Cadillac's super thin old exhaust system.
