enamel or clear coat or??? 120-130

I really don't like the look of clear coat on older cars (don't get me started on what I think of modern factory paint jobs). I have tried a product called Glasurit from BASF. They have a clear coat version and a single stage vesion (no clear coat). I used the single stage and really liked how it looked. It is not an enamel though, it is an acrylic urethane that you must mix a catalyzing hardener with in order for it to dry. But it seems really tough so far and if you get it sprayed just right it should flow out to give you a glossy orange peel free finish. But of course if it doesn't get sprayed perfectly you can still color sand it to make it a perfect showroom finish like the pros (you couldn't easily do that with a clear coat system).
