Odometer gear--25 or 26 teeth? 200

I know this question from Abnormally Aspirated 945T went unanswered the last time it was asked, so I'm hoping someone who knows what kind of gear is in my 1989 240 sedan will respond--how many teeth does my odometer gear have, and why is there a second version with one more/less tooth?

One theory has to do with the differences between sedan and wagon tires and weights. I can't confirm though, even having tried counting the teeth on pictures of gears online!

(I'm going to be doing the odometer gear repair soon, so I need to know so I don't order the wrong one!)
