Flametrap was immaculate

Hey everyone,
I was checking the fluids on my 1989 240dl with 200000kms and thought why not do some preventive maintenance and clean the flametrap ,having not cleaned it since I bought the car 3 years prior (it was very dirty then). Anyways I pulled it apart and it was spotless including the flame arrestor. Is this a result of using synthetic oil or a just a well running car or what? I was just surprised. Any thoughts
