installing 1990 TD 6141 radio in '87 740 GLE? 700 1987

Hey people. I recently purchased an '87 740 GLE without a radio. I have what is probably a 1990 stock TD 6141 radio/tape player. I was thinking of having it professionally installed at an Audio World locally. He said they might not be compatible. Is this guy trying to sell me a new stereo? If so, can anyone help with info on how to do this. The previous owner probably by-passed the amplifier, but it's still there. Also, there are two circular ports on the back of the radio. One can be hooked up to the Volvo equalizer. The other accepts a 5 pin connector. What the heck's that one for? Thanks.
