grinding noise on right turns 700

When I make a right turn at speeds over 30mph I hear a grinding or slight grating noise from the rear. I have checked the mufflers and they seem tight. I put on new rear gas shocks but they are tight. This sound just developed. It is only on right hand turns, not left hand turns and does not occur under acceleration straightaway. I suspect a bad bearing in the right axle shaft but when I jack up the wheel and spin I hear no rough noise. Anyone have a clue? The bushings look good and it does feel like the noise is toward the rear.
