To Bleed Or Not To Bleed 200

I am putting in a new master cylinder and wanted to know if you have to bleed the master cylinder or can you just add fluid and bleed the system at the brake ( of course in sequance per Bentley) calipers? I have done this on other cars and had no problem bleeding the system.BUT this is a VOLVO and not always as simple. Thanks,Charlie
