Homemade Trailing Arm Bushing Tool Question 200

Homemade Trailing Arm Bushing Tool: The directions for making the tool say to not use cast iron end caps (the two pieces that you drill a 1/2 inch hole through). I can only find standard cast iron end caps with tapered threads. The directions say to only use real steel end caps that will screw all the way into the coupler. What are your experiences with this? The ones I've seen in various postings look like the cast iron ones I've found. The directions mention that real steel end caps can be purchased at Home Depot. The problem is there is no Home Depot near my house. Any thoughts on the cast iron ones, or the ones at Home Depot?
