1800E door handle problem.........

I have had a continuing door handle problem with my '72 1800E drivers door handle for years.
Taking off the inner door panels it is more accessable but when I compare the push-button throw to the passenger door, it is not the same.

Looking at the distance that the passenger side push button (on the door handle), it compesses flush with the handle and has always worked well.

The drivers side push button sticks out maybe a 1/8" from the door handle when compressed with your thumb.

I have lubricated it well over the years with Wurth's HHS 2000 and did the same again today. It doesn't compress far enough to accuate the lever inside, even after adjusting the small phillips screw and lock-nut adjuster.

Has anyone had this problem before ?

Any help appreciated...... Duck
