Help w/ 240 Door Molding Removal 200

I have some light rust building up behind those three inch moldings located at the bottom of the doors on my '92 240. This is a real problem up here in the rust-belt and I want to get the doors cleaned up. Are these moldings held by threaded bolts and speednuts accessible through the interior door trim panel? Or are they the type of molding that have a clip molded into the backside and they just pop out of the hole through the door? AND, if that's the case, is there a real danger that the clips tear out of the molding and remain in the door and you end up having to replace them all? Thanks!
