72 1800es runs rough above 2000rpm 1800

Hello,
I have a 1972 1800es that runs rough above 2000 rpm. I bought the car from a guy near a friend’s house and is now sitting in my pal’s garage waiting for me to pick up. I have not had a chance to check the car out fully, but it’s in great shape except its running rough above idle. The car idles and sounds great up to about 2000rpm and then sounds like it wants to die. If any one has any suggestions for parts and tools I should take with me I would really appreciate it. Also suggestions on what I should look for when I start working on it? My friend lives far away from part stores especially ones that would specialize in Volvo parts and I want to drive it home.
Thanks
Anthony
