Rustproofing 700 1989

Hi David,

Yeah, these cars are great, I've had my 745T (1st Volvo) since Oct '01 and it's been great. I've spent a lot of money on it, but that has a lot to do with me being pretty picky :) I liked my Vo so much, that I had to have another and along came a deal last summer that I couldn't pass up and that was when I bought my 745NA. I drove that last winter and stored the turbo. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours, and they're an old car that's actually worth spending money on when it's needed. Your other car is a '91 EX-R eh? Cool. My dad drive's (I drive it too) a '93 Acura Vigor GS 5-speed (229K km) that he bought new and we've stored the last 6 winters. Fabulous car. The EX-R is sort of like a little Vigor, great car! Fluidfilm is an excellent product, we use it for lots of things. It can usually be found at Princess Auto and sometimes Canadian Tire. Usually you need to go to a car parts store for larger quantities. Maybe you'll have to take the Vo on a trip to Nova Scotia this summer and get my Vo mechanic to rustproof it. LOL :) If you have the right equipment and instruction it's not hard to do yourself, and it's great for the cars in our climate! Hydras are nice (I like), there's some other nice Vo RWD rims too. There's one called "Galaxy" (rare) that my mechanic says is nicer a Hydra, but are very hard to find.
