frustrating bolt problem. insight, please?? 200 1987

I need to get my left headlight assembly off to replace it. one of the bolts that holds it on simply spins in it's socket. if you don't know what the set up is, that means that the bolt head has stripped the plastic hex which it was sitting in. the only way i can see to access the head of the bolt would be to try to shatter the front of the assembly (the reflector). I am not turning one of the adjuster screws by mistake, so it's gotta be a different "i'm stupid" fix.... I'd appreciate any replies. -morgan from maine
