To replace a 740...S70 or S90?

OK, opinions needed.

My 740 is about done as our primary mode of family transport. I don't have wads of extra cash lying around for that V70R, so another used Brick will soon inhabit my driveway. Here are my two choices- they're priced a bit differently (the S90 is more, but I suspect I could talk the Ford dealer who has it down...they've had it a while) so let's call pricing factors a wash for now.

I'm looking for comfort over long trips (twice a year from Iowa to Mass.) and as little time spent under the hood as possible (I know these aren't Hondas, and I expect SOME maintenance/repairs, I'd just like to know which would be less expensive in the long run.)
The vehicle would be driven in the snow. I'd get a set of Blizzaks or similar, especially with the S90 (which does have the cold weather package/locking diff. The S70 has the CWP, too.)

The cars:

'98 S70 GLT, 71,000 miles, clean carfax, records.
'98 S90, 56,000 miles, no records.

I haven't seen either car in person yet...they're a distance away so I was going to trek out to see them this weekend.

Given the choice, Bricksters, which would you choose?

Thanks for the input.
