'91 740 TB change, possible problem with tensioner 700

I recently replaced the TB, crank seal, and tensioner. I could not get the tensioner assembly to seat completely flush with the face of the block. The small studd on the tensioner backing plate will not go completely into the hole on the block. The belt is entirely on the tensioner, though barely. Will this be a problem? Any recomendations will be appreciated.
