Need advice on rusted shut brake lines 200 1982

Was going to change front strut tube(rusted cup) this morning but got caught in snag so called job off & took wife to local Native American Pow-wow with family & friends instead. The nut for the brake line from the caliper to the hose stripped & I cant get it off but brake line is unopened so I can still use the car.It seems that I will have to get new brake lines but A friend said I can get flare tools & repair existing lines . Any body have experience with this ? I see JCW has stuff for new brake lines & unions that I am considering.Any advice ?
